Description
NO FUTURE is a piece about Northern Ireland’s past, its punk subculture, and the danger of allowing history to repeat itself.
Inspired by the raw punk culture that emerged during the Troubles, the work places a rebellious punk figure on a DeLorean, the iconic car from Back to the Future. But there’s a twist — the wheels have been removed. The car isn’t going anywhere.
The DeLorean becomes a metaphor for Northern Ireland itself a constant temptation to look backwards, while the missing wheels represent a refusal or inability to move forward.
